James Postill
He earned his bachelor`s degree in fine arts at Okanagan University College in 1993.
James now works primarily with a combination of acrylics and oils as his preferred form of artistic expression.
"The rain series, as I call it, represents my ongoing fascination with the distorting effects of water on color, form, and light.
By depicting the perspective of looking out as a driver or passenger during inclement weather, my aim is to evoke feelings of comfort for the viewer, feelings which can sometimes be tinged with moodiness, or even melancholy.
What I love about this series is that it allows me in many ways to play with the boundary between representation and abstraction, and that`s a freedom that is endlessly fascinating and challenging."
