Donna Baspaly was born in Manitoba, Canada, in 1943. With over forty years of professional practice, the artist has established herself as a leading figure in contemporary mixed-media and watercolour art. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Japan, Australia, the United States, and Canda, and has been represented in galleries throughout British Columbia. She has received prestigious awards from the Federation of Canadian Artists` Signature Medal Shows, including Silver Medal, Bronze Medal, and Award of Excellence, earning her Signature Status ( SFCA) with the Federation of Canadian Artists and Signature Membership with the Northwest Watercolour Society ( NWWS).

Baspaly`s expertise has been documented in major publications including `Design and Composition Secrets of Professional Artists`, Experimental Encyclopedia of Mixed-Media Artists in North America, Nita Leland`s Creative Artist, Somerset Studio Magazine, International Artists Magazine, and Artist` Magazine. In 2000, Donna served as Chairperson for the International AIM FOR ARTS exhibition, earning her Honorary Lifetime Membership with the FCA. She served on the FCA Standrads Committee and has extensive jurying experience, including a five-year tenure at the Pacific Rim International Miniature Art Contest. Presently she will be a Juror for the Sooke Fine Art Exhibition.

As a Signature teacher for the Federation of Cnadian Artists` Foundation Program, Baspaly gives workshops throughout British Columbia, nationally and internationally. Of Indigenous ancestry, her personal journey of discovery continues to inform her artistic vision.

The artists currently resides in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.
